Broad City has deliberate looseness that seems to be a result of its web series roots. It’s not sloppy, but it does have an effortless vibe that matches the carefree attitude of its two leads.
Girls is not a show I particularly love. Unlike other series, I don’t google casting updates between seasons, or spend inordinate amounts of time discussing it with friends or on social media. It still a good show, a great show even. It’s smart, funny, emotional, and, at times, surprising.
So far season six appears to be a return to basics. After last’s season’s ambitious storyline, the season six premier feels much smaller in scope. That’s not a bad thing.
